The fan service film Lovecracked! The Movie, a play on words featuring the works of H.P. Lovecraft is representative if what can happen when you get a lot of people together to try and meld together short stories and “inspired by” takes on the works of a particular author and turn them into a semi-successful full length film. I say

Jackass: Number Two lives up to everything we would expect after the first time and a successful TV show. The sequel is bigger and certainly pushes the limits of what we might consider good taste, but its all for a laugh, so, in the end, it works. Like the original film, Number Two is book ended by some scripted sequences:

Alright, why the hell is a dude reviewing a chick flick? I’m sure at least one person is asking. The truth is I was sitting with a group of friends one night talking to this site’s own Mr. Becker about how I could get a chance to review some of the great screeners and swag he gets from companies. A

If anyone is taking notes on how to do write, direct, and base a movie around a singular actors abilities, let Nacho Libre be the poster child and the butt of all jokes. In fact, it might be the only joke that is funny concerning this dreadfully unfunny affair that neither strikes a cord with Napoleon Dynamite fans or those

The Da Vinci Code is by no means an instant classic of a novel, but it is an engaging thriller filled with twists, turns, and enough whodunits to really make you think and turn the page over and over again. After all, that’s what makes a really good book. But what makes a really good movie or better yet, a

V for Vendetta is the first great movie of 2006, hands down. Nothing that has been released in the last three and a half months stacks up to the canvas painted by this immersive film which, on the surface, is a hardcore action film, but underneath is a beautiful picture with excellent characters and sharp dialog. Although the film seemed

Running Scared is one of those movies that really make you question what you, personally, consider to be a good, bad, or average movie. There are so many reasons why the film is nothing special, but then you take a look at it in pieces and you can see why it had all the promise of a cult hit akin

Final Destination delivers everything you would expect from a horror movie sequel, but this series has a lot more to live up to due to the cleverness of the first two movies in the series and the most inventive deaths this side of Friday the 13th. Sure, the series hasn’t really broken any new ground, or gone gangbusters at the

King Kong is an amazing achievement in filmmaking, and even with all the buzz surrounding the three hour length of the film, or the questionable casting of some parts, the film still manages to stun the audience in amazement. Truly, after viewing the original only a week prior to seeing the remake I can say that the 2005 version of
